Top 10 Free Things to Do in Seoul

Seoul is packed with free attractions that rival any city in the world. Here are my top 10 picks.

## 1. Gyeongbokgung Palace
The grandest of Seoul palaces. Free entry on Wednesdays and for children under 13. Arrive early to rent a hanbok (traditional Korean dress) for free entry all week.

## 2. Bukchon Hanok Village
Traditional Korean houses nestled between two palaces. Walking through these narrow alleys feels like stepping back 500 years.

## 3. Cheonggyecheon Stream
A beautiful 10.9km stream running through downtown Seoul. Perfect for evening walks, especially in spring and autumn.

## 4. Namsan Park
Hike up for free or take the cable car. The trail takes about 40 minutes and offers stunning city views.

## 5. Dongdaemun Design Plaza
Zaha Hadid designed this futuristic building is free to explore. The architecture alone is worth the visit.

## 6. Seoul Forest
A massive park with cherry blossom trees, deer, and walking trails. Less touristy than Namsan.

## 7. Insadong Streets
Traditional shopping street with free art galleries, tea houses, and street performers.

## 8. Hangang Parks
Riverside parks where locals picnic, play music, and watch sunsets. Yongsan Hangang Park is my favorite.

## 9. National Museum of Korea
One of the largest museums in Asia, completely free. Spend 2-3 hours here easily.

## 10. Myeongdong Walking Street
Great for window shopping and people watching. The energy here is electric.

**Pro tip:** Most free attractions are within walking distance or a short subway ride from each other.
